Integrated Electronic Health Record (iEHR)

Provided independent functional review, insight and measurement of the benefits to the Presidential mandate of an iEHR between Department of Defense (DoD) and VA. Measured the interoperability between the VA and DoD in terms of orders portability and joint EHR between the agencies and reported the results to Congress for further investment and progress.

New Models of Care Major Initiative

Provided product effectiveness functional reviews, benefits realization, customer satisfaction and lessons learned processes for Clinical Information Systems, Clinical Documentation Systems and Tele-ICU programs, investments totaling over $500M. Efforts and results have led to patient safety / patient care recommendations and project optimization.

Care in the Community and Purchased Care

Assisted with the evaluation and measurement services of the Veterans Choice Program enacted by Congress to increase access to care in the community for Veterans. Evaluate business processes and measures that will ensure timely appointments, care coordination, quality of care and integration back into the primary care unit within VA for continuity of care and patient safety. Results from measures and evaluation get reported to the Senior Leadership of the VA as well as Congress.

  • This phase begins to investigate the organization’s competition and evaluate those things that the organization is best at achieving compared to their competitors. During this phase is where the client begins to redefine the vision of the organization or where they are headed.
• How will the organization get there?
  • This phase will consist of developing strategic objectives and short term goals that will help the client move closer to their mission. The short-term goals will turn the strategic objectives into performance metrics and targets. Through action items, scorecard measurements, and execution, the client can assign responsibilities and track the success of the implementation of the strategy.
